In 1948, skiing Tuckerman’s Ravine was a lot tougher than today. Those who were brave enough to make up the challenging hike to the ravine would have to shred the harrowing terrain with beartrap bindings and wooden skis. It’s crazy to see the advancements in ski gear, and yet, Tuckerman’s Ravine remains the same imposing force on New England Skiing.
